Langley Children Committee

Child Day –

We are excited to offer another Child Day opportunity for families, this time in North Langley.  This event is FREE for families with children aged birth – 5 years, as well as pregnant and expecting parents. Siblings are welcome. We are excited to host this event on a Saturday to accommodate all families.

Date: Saturday, May 4th, 2024

Event Time: 10:30am – 1:30pm

Set up: 9:15 – 10:15am

Location: RE Mountain Secondary School

Our Fall Child Day was held in September 2023, and we had over 1000 registrants and over 600 of these attended. This is a great opportunity to reach families with young children and let them know about the services and programs you offer. Families will be able to visit community information booths and a vendor marketplace while enjoying entertainment, displays and children’s activities. The RE Mountain Athletic Department will be hosting a concession stand for families, additionally, we anticipate having a coffee truck.

We really enjoy providing a variety of door prizes for families at our Child Day events.  We ask that you please consider donating a door prize (min $25 value) that will be handed out during the event.

If you are interested in attending this event, please register on the link below. The deadline to register is April 12th, 2024.

Improving Youth Service Navigation: A Guide for Community Organizations  The purpose of this guide is to improve understanding of service navigation by examining the specific barriers that exist and connecting them with strategies that communities can use to successfully address them.   It is more than just a compilation of strategies; it’s a result of the extensive research of the Communities Building Youth Futures team, the communities we work with, as well as learnings from insightful interviews with folks with lived experience. We recognize that one-size-fits-all solutions don’t work in the dynamic tapestry of diversity in Turtle Island (which includes Canada). This guide is your compass to navigate youth services successfully. READ THE GUIDE

Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Early Years (EASEY) is now available on the HealthyMindsBC – https://healthymindsbc.gov.bc.ca/elearning/everyday-anxiety-strategies-for-early-years-easey/ – website at no cost.

EASEY is a self-paced, online course and collection of resources that provides B.C. early years professionals with practical and evidence-informed anxiety information and strategies to strengthen their capacity to support families with young children ages 0-6 experiencing everyday (mild to moderate) anxiety.
